It is so much fun to watch birds land on this bird feeder stand. They perch on the spikes at the top of the stand. Then they fly down to the birdfeeders and start feeding. But that’s not all. They take turns feeding. If a bird should fly to the feeder and frighten a bird that is feeding, that frighten bird flies down to the platform below the feeders. They wait for the best opportunity to get back up and start feeding. The birds also wait in the tree for the right opportunity to fly onto the stand or feeder. Some birds will stay on the ground and eat the seeds that fall. I saw only once a mother bird fly to her chick that waited for her on the platform. Cats would sometimes lerk in the area at a chance to grab a bird. The base is concrete with some small metal animals sticking on the top of the concrete.
